On
June 11th, 2010 took place the next Dream Night at Wroclaw Zoo
organized by the Wroclaw Society of Aquaristic (WTA) and Wroclaw Zoo.
Aqua Szut was one of the sponsors and partners of this amazing
event. This initiative is dedicated to to
all the sick and disabled children and their carers, who day have
free admission to the Wroclaw Zoo at this day and the entire
zoo to themselves. As always, also this year, there were many
attractions for the children, such as: painting plaster casts in the
shape of fish, seahorses and other aquatic creatures. Couloring the
painting books, participating in the competitions with great prizes.
One of the main attractions was a
contest to name the fish, that lives in Wrocła Zoo. Children filled
special coupons and threw to the especially prepared ballot box.
Committee consisted of members of the WTA and the Wroclaw Zoo
staff chose the best one. It was extremely difficult, because all the
children have shown great ingenuity in inventing great names. The
results were announced at the end of the evening. The
name PLUMPEK won, and its author has become the godfather of the
fish. He also won a valuable prize: Cube aquarium set with a column
( both Aqua Szut brand), sponsored by Tropheus Company and the book
"Lexicon of Polish Fairy Tales" sponsored by Pizzeria
Bonita. During the Dream Night WTA announced the result of
artistic competition.: "Aquarium of my Dreams". Children
created small works of art using various techniques and tools. All
the works were so beautiful that every child got a prize. Of
course the main prizes (in the form of kits funded by the aquarium's
Aqua Szut, Aquael and Trzmiel) were for the first three places, but
other children also were appreciated and received a great surprises
(including books and gadgets from the compannies: Aqua Szut, books
and vouchers for a free pizza from the Pizzeria Bonita, gadgets from
Aquael, etc.) All children also received diplomas. But the contests
and prizes were not the only attractions at Dream Night! Kids could
touch and take a picture with a snake, owl, turtle, lizard, and even
exotic bugs as centipede and extatosoma. Ladies from the Board of
Customs talked about prohibited products made of protected wild
animals spiecies leather and furr. They were spreading the awarness
of how cruelly poachers treat exotic animals . They kill them with
cold blood, scalp them and make bags, shoos,belts, etc. Then sell all
this illigal porducts to unaware tourists. The killing of protected
species , the purchase of such products and bring them to the Poland
is a crime! This porblem was very important to us and we are going to
write a big article about it soon!
Wroclaw Puppet Theatre organized a wonderful presentation, entitled.
"Corsican Brothers" . The show took place in the Summer
Restaurant at zoo, and the main roles were played by puppets made of
paper. Little guests also had the opportunity to meet with the author
of books for children-Wieslawa Kuciębą, try the art of Chinese
calligraphy and Origami, play with rescuers dogs, meet with Barbara
Borzymowska - writer and painter, and put themselves into the hands
of volunteers who lovingly painted children's faces. The great
attractions of the Dream Night were seals feeding show, elephants
feeding show, lemurs feeding show, and the possibility of
self-feeding giraffes. Kids also realy enjoyed catching plastic fish
form aquarium by a fish net, organized by the WTA. Each child could
pick out the fish, sponsored by Trzmiel, and take it home. After
ctaching fish every child got some additional gifts. The joy on the
childen's faces was captured by a photographer Krzysztof Chrzanowski,
whose pictures can be viewed on our website. We had great fun.
Children are real volcanoes of positive energy, joy and spontaneity.
It was great to take these positive emotions fom them and
simultaneously give them the same. We played with them, talked, gave
presents and laughed. The Dream Night was a great event, we are
looking forward to the next one in 2011!
